We look forward to meeting you on your first visit to our office. During this time, we will help you get acquainted with our office and learn about your orthodontic treatment. We understand that each patient’s orthodontic treatment is different and we promise to give you the personal attention you deserve. Your first visit will consist of an examination and discussion of potential treatment options. At this visit, we will determine whether treatment is indicated or whether it will be necessary to wait. If treatment is indicated, appointments are arranged to have diagnostic records taken and the braces, Invisalign (or appliance) placed. Your fee, insurance issues, and the financial options are discussed at this first visit. We encourage questions from both the patient and the parent, and as such, we provide ample time to answer your questions.
At this appointment your treatment will begin. Your records will be reviewed, discussed in detail, and the treatment coordinator will answer any questions that you may have. We will review the procedures that we will be doing that day and how long it will take. We will also discuss typical future appointments and the amount of time necessary for these appointments.
Your appointments will be at regular intervals between 6 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. Our regular office hours are Monday through Thursday typically from 9:00 AM to 5 PM although our hours do vary during the year. We see patients one Saturday a month and all visits are by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 8 weeks in advance.
Cost The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options at the first visit before any records are taken. We have payment plans to suit different budgets. We can extend your payments over the expected number of months of anticipated treatment and we also offer a discount for fees paid in advance. We accept payment by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.
Insurance If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available. We ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us. The balance will be arranged for you to pay. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
